An Introduction

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! My name is Erynne Browning and I am a political science and journalism double major. I have many varying interests, which will be reflected amongst future blog posts. My main focus is political journalism. My passion for politics, in particular, stems from my want to enact change. Although I previously wanted to go into a law, I came to the decision that I would rather push towards the developing of new laws rather than defending those that already exist. I hope to eventually go into the field of nonprofit grant writing and later lobbying. My pieces often highlight social inequalities, whether it be based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, class etc. Future topics may include immigration, minimum wage, equal access to safe and affordable housing, the right to education, in addition to voter access. I also have interests in election politics, national security, specifically in the realm of domestic terrorism, and the defense of First Amendment freedoms. Being able to give a voice to such issues is important in today’s social climate. I look forward to the kinds of stories that this blog will generate!
